Rising above the saturation of mediocrity, Hermitude reignite the possibilities of beat production with their debut album Alleys to Valleys. The duo deliver an hour of elaborate yet subtlely constructed musical ear-meals. Prepare yourselves to dig this.

Hermitude consist of Luke Dubs (keys) and El Gusto (drums/DJ/programmer). Dubs is a renowned keyboard maestro in the Sydney jazz and hip hop scenes. His diversity ranges from forty piece swing bands to hip hop and electronic outfits. elgusto, at the tender age of 20 has a musical resume which includes national tours with Paulmac, DJing with The Herd and travelling to Cuba to learn percussion from the greats.

In 2002 their debut 12” EP Imaginary Friends was released on elefant traks to critical acclaim (***** 3D World). Since then they’ve toured with The Herbaliser, 2Dogs, The Herd and The Bird.

In Alleys to Valleys, El Gusto’s beat programming, percussion and scratches take you from laidback lazy Sundays through to prodigious drummer boy cruising the city’s back alleys. Dubs assumes co-pilot role lashing the tracks with melodic riffs and keys, dripping hip hop and jazz like grease. The two interchange roles like stupidly talented children. It’s playful; it’s bumping and arse shaking; it’s a double-shot comatose bliss. Also featuring on the album are Ozi Batla & Urthboy (The Herd), and Joelistics (TZU).

Australian Customers

We’ve chosen Australia Post to handle delivery of all our orders. Australia Post offers a safe, fast, cheap and reliable service. If you’re in a rush for your purchase Express Post offers next business day delivery Australia wide. Each item in the store is individually weighed and our shipping calculator works out the actual postage cost.

Overseas Customers

For most orders we recommend Air Mail shipping, Australia’s Air Mail rates are some of the cheapest in the world and they also provide a swift shipping time. Other options include Express Post International, Express Courier International and Sea Mail.

International orders may be subject to local taxes and duties. It is the buyers responsibility to understand and pay these.

Making a Return

Australian Customers

If you change your mind after your goods have arrived you may send them back within 30 days of receipt. You must contact us for a goods return authorisation number first. No goods will be accepted without this number. Reseal the package, with your invoice attached to the front, write the return authorisation number on the back, mark it ‘Return To Sender’ and you can send it via Australia Post. If you have simply decided that you don’t want the order we will refund the value of the goods or credit the value against a future order. We regret that shipping charges are only refundable if we have made an error in the goods we have supplied or the goods are damaged.

Overseas Customers
